We went to Haberfield, a suburb in inner west Sydney about 9 kms west of Sydney CBD. Haberfield is pre-dominantly an Italian cultured suburb, with many shops selling traditional pastisseries, fresh pasta, crusty bread, espresso coffees, pizza and cheeses. We like the fresh pasta at Peppe's Pasta, especially the duck and caramelized onion ravioli and roasted pumpkin and sage ravioli. We also bought wood-fire baked bread - ciabatta and brioche - from Haberfield Bakery. As usual, there is long queue at the bakery. Before we had lunch at Dolcissimo, we also visited A&P Sulfaro Pastisserie to buy some custard filled canneloni and other pastries.
Here's what we had for lunch:
Ham and mushroom pizza
Spaghetti Vongole
Char-grilled baby calamari
The food was yummy, not too salty. The only complaint is too much olive oil used.
