Nachos

Nachos are a favourite in our family. Another easy snack or lunch item to put together.

Minced beef
1/2 onion, chopped

1 can diced tomatoes
pinch of smoked paprika
Tasty or cheddar cheese, grated
  1. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a frypan. Add the chopped onion and saute till soften.
  2. Brown the minced meat, then add the seasoning and some water. Lower heat and simmer for a few minutes.
  3. Finally, add the diced tomatoes and season with smoked paprika, salt and sugar. Simmer for another 10 minutes on low, until mixture thickens slightly.
  4. Line a plate with aluminum foil. Lay the corn chips on the covered plate, scoop some of the minced meat mixture more the corn chips. Sprinkle the grated cheese on top. Place under the grill to melt and brown the cheese for about 5 minutes.
  5. Serve hot.

  2. MG: I bought the corn chips from the supermarket. I usually buy the Dorito brand. I have also bought corn chips from the local fruit and veg market too. Hope you can find corn chips in the supermarkets in Msia.
