Roti Jala (Lacy Crepes) and Chicken Curry

Roti Jala translated literally means 'net bread', but I think lacy crepes sounds a lot nicer. It has been many years since I've tasted roti jala. I remember this as a popular dish during Hari Raya in Malaysia. This roti is always served with chicken curry.

I found this recipe on Sonia's Nasi Lemak Lover blog. I halved the amounts in the recipe as a test. When I made the first crepe, I found the batter too thick, so I added another 1/8 cup of water to thin it. It worked out better with the additional liquid. As with most recipes, sometimes you have to guess or follow your instinct or in Malay we say 'agak-agak'.

  2. Nice! If you move the mould quicker, you'll have finer lace
