Learning to Cook

Ashleigh has an interest in cooking and baking. Since she just turned 10 recently, and is currently on holidays, we are teaching her to cook and bake. A few days ago, she baked choc chip cookies, really tasty and chewy. It was a hit, which was great confidence booster for Ashleigh. Tonight, Ashleigh is cooking dinner with lessons from Dad. She has chosen chicken schnitzel, mashed potatoes and steamed vegies for dinner. So I am taking the opportunity to enjoy some time with Caitlin watching "Imagination Movers" on Playhouse Disney. Looking forward to dinner tonight.

  1. it's wonderful that Ashleigh has an interest in cooking. Mommy can shake leg soon and leave the cooking to her ;)

  2. wah, 10 years already know how to cook, my daughter 12 years also like to cook, I think I should start to teach her and let her cook some, so I can relax a bit.

  3. I will post photos from Ashleigh's 1st cooked meal soon. I think it is important to equip children with life skills that they can use later on. In Australia, there are no maids to do the cooking or housework. Therefore, getting the children to help also instills a sense of responsibility in them.
