10 years on - 9/11

Today marks the 10th anniversary since the 9/11 attacks which started the war against terrorism. Where were you when you heard the news? I remember so vividly watching the scenes of the two airplanes flying into the Twin Towers late that night on TV and thought it was a scene from a movie. Then I sat and watch more, and realised it was happening in real life. For the next few days, more and more images flash on screen - scenes of people running, people covered in dust, people jumping from the buildings. I felt afraid...it was late into the night in Sydney and I was alone at home with Ashleigh; hubby was away from home working in Canberra at that time. I also rang my sister who was living in Michigan at that time, worried for her and my BIL.

How the world has changed since that fateful day 10 years ago. Osama bin laden is now dead..yet the war against terrorism has not end...with no end in sight.

Today, I remember those who died in the Twin Towers, those whose lives changed, the children who have lost their parents and everyone who have lost loved ones.

At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.

  1. This is a sad day for many. You are right, the world is never the same after that day 10 years ago! Let's hope nothing like this will ever happen again.

  3. i still remember i was watching at the tv, and then quickly rush to call my aunt who's daughter was in Texas. Ya..kinda far from that place, but still, its so scary and worrying.

Funny that people are not afraid of dying, treasuring their life and still killing each other out there.
