Away this Long Weekend

This weekend is a long weekend in NSW due to Queen's birthday, therefore a public holiday for us. I don't have any loyalty to the Queen (of England, that is) but glad for the extra holiday. There are not too many public holidays in Australia, unlike in Malaysia where there are holidays for Sultan's bday, FT Day, May etc. So we really cherish our long weekends. The last time we had a break was at Easter which was in April. Anyway, I digress......

As the title suggests, I'm going to be away this weekend without hubby and girls. Just my 3 girlfriends and I will be heading west to Mudgee, past the Blue Mountains, about 5 hours drive away. This is our once-a-year girlie weekend to catch up on goss, a bit of wining (actually plenty of it because Mudgee is famous for its vineyards), dining (booked into two restaurants for two dinners) and relaxation. Last year we went away to the Blue Mountains, read here. We're booked into a lodge located on a winery with an open log fireplace, perfect for winter. So, I'm looking forward to some relaxation after a hectic week in the office. Hope to update with some photos from my trip when I return. Thanks to my hubby for allowing me my girlie weekends. Cheerio!

  8. I strongly recommend going away without children and hubby to all mums. It's a great chance to catch up with g/friends, recharge the batteries and chill out. I never thought my husband could handle the two girls, but he has proven me wrong twice. I guess it gets easier now that my girls are getting older. Ashleigh is old enough to help around the house and help play with Caitlin. The girls had a grand time bonding with Dad. Try it ladies, you won't regret it.
