Is this a Real Santa?
Ashleigh and I were in Melbourne for a short break recently. As it is getting close to Christmas, there were many people performing on the streets - trying to earn some money. Whilst walking through Bourke St Mall, we came across this Santa made out of stone. At first glance, we thought it was a statue. But then, a little girl went up to touch 'it' and 'it' moved. Later in the day, we saw the undressed version of Santa, and it was actually a young bloke who wore the suit. In the 32C heat and humidity, he must have been 'roasting' inside.

That's a mighty ugly looking Santa if you ask me...!!! I'm missing Bourke St Mall!!!!
ReplyDeleteHaha, the Melbourne Santa looks authentic but perhaps petrified in stone. He may have been waiting to be touched to be alive again, like in a fairy tale.
ReplyDeleteIt does not look real at all to me! Sure it's a man dressed up?? Haha!
ReplyDeleteI thought the Santa was a statue!
ReplyDeleteHee..I saw him last year..and he gave my kids a fright, when he moved.
ReplyDeletePretty cool huh?
I was like some hillbilly, exclaiming in wonderment, that it was moving!!!
Wow, that is some suit! I like the new look of the blog, and congrats to Ashleigh on her award.
ReplyDeleteso he's been using the same costume for years (referring to mott's comment) then must give him some token cos its really hot inside.
ReplyDeleteSasha: thankfully I was not close enough to find out if the costume smelled, I can only imagine. :D
